I suffer from PTSD and I have to say this episode is an amazing representation of it. Chef Pee Pee had trauma for what he did and PTSD is basically trauma that never leaves. It comes back in flashbacks, nightmares, or hallucinations at times.

Just as the dog never left Chef Pee Pee. The dog is a trauma that will never leave him no matter what.

I was confused on the ending, but now I think I understand.
I'm guessing what had happened, was that the dog came back as it's spirt to haunt Chef Pee Pee. At first I thought it was a figment of imagination, but then I realized that it wasn't. It's just the ghost of the dog, hence why it disappears when Chef Pee Pee is taken by the cop.
Either way, this episode is one of my favorites.!
