The Fiskars hatchet my nephew has is wicked sharp, even after years of near daily use. He used to use it to split wood for the wood boiler. However, he found out that splitting with a hatchet requires a special setup to avoid injury. (He knocked it off the wood pile by accident and it banged against the side of his knee on the way down. He didn't even realize he was cut until the blood started to ooze through his jeans.) He could power through a cord all by himself with it. Fortunately, he uses a proper sized axe these days, along with sturdy boots and chaps.

Well, Mr. Killinger. I kind of get the feeling that you like the X27. Anything, different about this axe or the X25 that you feel sets its apart from other modern splitting axes? Anything you don't like about them or constructive criticism?
