I hate reviewers when they compare using benchmarks and video editing, like are you a reviewer or video-editor, most of us don't care about video editing

The ability to connect 2 additional screens will be my core reason for choosing the pro m4. Yes it’s significantly more $ but worth it for the additional ports and be able to use all 3 screens for workspace. Thanks so much for this great comparison. Really helpful.

Surprisingly, the M4 Pro has a better battery life than the M3 Air?

Just ordered an 14" M4 Pro coming from base model M2 Air (8GB/256GB). My workflow isn't that demanding but the 8GB has become an annoyance whenever I do something more intensive. Was thinking of M3 air 16gb/512gb, but it would be kind of a too boring upgrade and I like the SD card-slot (for photography) and the hdmi-out (for presentations). Also minor thing: usb-c charging from both sides of the laptop. It's my main and only computer which I use for work, so saving a few hunderd over the years doesn't really make a difference. 24GB RAM feels pretty future proof as well.

I'm using MBA M1 512gb, and always running out of space due to many download stuff, and I'm gonna need to replace it soon, so it either I get a customised 1tb M3 MBA, or wait for the 1tb M4 MBA.
In your professional opinion, do you really think Apple will release a M4 MacBook Air in early 2025?

Super helpful - this is definitely the most data driven video I've seen on this topic so far. All of the other similar videos basically focus on "vibes" and don't actually have any quantitative data to cut through the vauge Apple marketing

I went from the 15 inch M2 AIr to the Base M4 Pro macbook pro with the Trade In Program and it was very much worth it since upgrading RAM on the AIR was a lot while 24gb ram is default on the Pro version

I think as much as I want the best ie M4 Pro MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air is all I really need - and it's quite a lot lighter. The word is an M4 MacBook Air will be out in the next few months, so agreed - I will wait for that. Hopefully the screen will be a bit better, and some extra ports - all of which would be nice, but really - not a deal-breaker.
