About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on YouTube videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!

Good stuff mate! I have to say, I have been watching all of your meat birds stuff from tractor builds to this and you are doing a fantastic job. Keep at it and keep getting better. We are excited to get moving on meat birds eventually. -Kenny

Those birds are beautiful! The fruits of your efforts! I hope you show Lorraine cutting up the larger birds. I speak strength, peace and joy over you! Psalm 103 Blessings...

New subscriber so I apologize if you’ve covered this topic already. Buy how (canning/freezing etc) do you preserve and store your food? Interested as we have a very small home with very little storage. starting a raised garden bed next year in place of our front lawn and don’t know if we have the storage space to save our bounty.

I imagine that when you freeze such a large and valuable quantity, a generator IS A MUST!
Another goodie, keep it up guys!

Few questions: (1) Can u make a video on the chicken how you kill them, pluck them, etc (i'm a city slicker) ~ (2) why do u kill the brown egg chicken instead of the white chicken seems to be the other way since they are the biggest meat (white) and the brown are best money eggs ~ (3) why don't you buy rabbits for meat ? I haven't watched all of your video yet just started watch your vid's yesterday and getting hooked so if i miss one will have to search love to see more info about the chicken thanks 😉🙏🏻
