Just finished watching the final Spiral series. I've watched all the Spiral series from when it first appeared on BBC4. Superb series. Best detective show ever. If you get a chance during this covid lockdown it's a great one to binge on.
Every year I look forward to it I'm really going to miss it.

I can barely contain my excitement! Who will die? Will Josephine get out of prison and finally get the the help and care she so desperately needs? Will Laure be able to take care of Romy? Will François recover and finally get it on with the marvellous Mariane? And most importantly, just how long did Gilou wait outside the maternity hospital with that giant panda?

Excellent series even if hard for me with subtitles as one eye sight, good scripts plus good acting, worth watching,

What a brilliant end to this season. Seems like its a watershed moment though. Fair few questions have been answered also. Roban''s end, Gillou doing what he did, Laure doing what she did, and Tin Tin working for who he now works for. Season 8 is been filmed in France already though as we speak. I'm excited about that. Deeply but i do fear many more seasons will Spiral carry on for ?

No its not Tin Tin who dies, but on that note I'd love it if the original team reunited. Gilou will struggle to forgive and get his head round what Laure did to her newborn baby, after he was abandoned by his birth parents. I know who dies but i don't want to spoil but all i can say about bloody time and amen !!!!

Being French I can only say that «engrenages » (spiral) stands well above any French series I can think of. Characters are very human with flaws and it doesn’t show the good sides of Paris. The action mostly takes place in the northern side of the city on in the poorest suburbs. It’s really gritty and overall an amazing show. I can only compare if to “the wire”. I also love “the west wing” and “dowton abbey” but they’re dealing with different subjects.

Hi, are there any Spiral fans who can explain this for me? Right at the end of the final episode of series one, the camera pans to show a dead body under a tree. With a plastic bag over the face. Then the episode (and series!) ends right there with zero explanation. What was that all about??
