Neither, Pine and Oak have similar lifespans. Up to and over 1000 years, 100-250 average.

Oak is generally more durable as a hardwood tree and isn't as tall.

Both have similar levels of ecological activity.

Neither, Oak is hard and Pine is soft, both are valuable and have their unique uses as lumber. Although Pine used to be much more valuable due to its size and length being excellent for building ships.

So pine matures quicker meaning its cut down quicker.... It provides non-human life less time to grow, survive and thrive before human cut it down. oak takes one to two hundred years to grow meaning it provides for generations before we cut it down. The ecosystem needs both but oak makes a home for longer to the masses compared to humans
