6 oz (170 grams) butter (soften)
1/2 cup (100 grams) white granulated sugar
5 oz (150 grams) dark chocolate 60-70%
4 large eggs (white and yolks separated)
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup (60 grams) white all-purpose flour
1 pound (450 grams) cherries
Cocoa powder for dusting on top of the cake

LOL - yes, dont worry. I am very popular among my neighbors because they eat most of the stuff I make. otherwise, between testing the recipes, and making them, I will not fit in the screen by now. I also work out 3-4 times a week, because I actually enjoy it. As long as I feel good in my own skin, I am ok - I am not obsessed.

I appreciate your concern. Personally, I dont equate beauty with the number of pounds a person weigh. There are many women who are very curvy and are gorgeous. It's all about how the person feels and how they carry themselves. Beauty comes in different sizes, colors, and shapes :-)

This looks so delicious! I would love to make it and send some to my sister for her birthday-do you think it would travel well if packed correctly? Should I freeze it or send it right away? when you say "pitted cherries" do you mean frozen? or they were fresh? if you use frozen fruits then you will have an issue with the water in the cake. Also you have to make sure that you dry your cherries (in case you washed them) before using them.

in a way yes! like a brownie. however, in this recipe, I beat the egg whites into a 'meringue', which gives an airy texture to the cake. brownies are denser.

hi alia, I just did the cake this afternoon but alas I used pitted cherries instead of the fresh ones and my cake was wet underneath. I had intended to make it for my breaking of fast this evening. could you tell me what went wrong. however it still looks delicious and I cant wait to taste it

the texture will definitely be different. If you are following a gluten-free diet, you can use a gluten-free flour and see in the package how much to substitute for flour.
