New Music Releases: Aphex Twin, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, and Jennifer Hudson

In the first official New Releases Roundup of the Fall season, we've got the details on Aphex Twin's first album since 2001, Julian Casablancas unleashes Tyranny, and Jennifer Hudson drops J HUD.

Today marks the official end of summer, but All Music's keeping the party going with the details on three of this week's most talked-about new albums.

After a strange promotional campaign featuring blimps, graffiti and hints buried in the deepest, darkest corners of the internet, electronic music icon Richard James is ready to release his first Aphex Twin album since two thousand and one. Titled Cy-roh, the sixty-four-minute album contains 12 tracks, all with unpronounceable titles.

With the Strokes in a seeming constant state of hibernation punctuated by brief bursts of activity, like last year's promotion-less Comedown Machine, frontman Julian Casablancas has kept busy collaborating with Daft Punk and with his new backing band, the Voids. "Tyranny" carries on Casablancas' tradition of being more long-winded in his solo music than with the Strokes, with several songs clocking in at over five minutes, a mark the Strokes have never broken.

It's been eight years since Jennifer Hudson won almost every possible award for her turn in Dreamgirls, and J-Hud is her third solo album since that massive wave of attention. This time she renews her collaboration with Timbaland and brings in Pharrell Williams as a co-writer on several tracks, in addition to cameos from R Kelly, Iggy Azalea and T.I.
