Namak Halaal is a story of Arjun who has come in city in search of job and eventually gets to do a job in a 5-star hotel. There he finds that many attempts are being made to kill hotel owner Raja by his hotel manager. However, the blame falls on Raja's mother who is actually Arjun’s mother. Arjun realises that Raja is in danger and hence takes an oath to save Raja. The story then unfolds showing how Arjun discovers the real villians and teaches them a lesson with the help of Raja.

I watched this film in 1982. Watching it again brought back so many memories. So many of the great actors from this movie are no more with us. Om Prakash Ji, Smita Patil Ji, Shashi Kapoor Ji, Parveen Babi Ji. Its very sad. This movie was such a hit in its time. The songs are evergreen. Amitabh Bachchan Ji's comedy and emotional bonding with Om Prakash Ji's made this movie a So nice to see Waheeda Ji, How graceful and elegant she is....
