These shutters are a nuisance. Here in America, since our prongs are parallel, we’re able to rock the plug back and forth a bit as we insert it into the outlet which helps open the shutters, but with the crowfoot arrangement of the Australian prongs, I would imagine that’s not as easy to do

Should the outlet be creaking that much when inserting the plug? Mine are never that noisy. Perhaps it's the shutters?
