If these are reasons to murder then half of the 90s kids will be in jail now

If you have parents like that, just move out and live on your own . No need to murder them .

I did not want to study science/medicine like everyone wanted me to. I fought the decision and went into an arts college. My father and extended family treated me like a loser. I did summer jobs and paid for my bachelors and masters in India. And then I got a scholarship for a second masters in the UK. And then I got a fellowship for my PhD in the Univ of California. That shut my dad and family right up!
This murderer proved his father was right. If he was capable and strong he would have left home and become successful and proved his father wrong. But that takes guts and brains. This guy didn't have either.

I know it's a lot to take in. Still, bro could've just waited to take off his career instead of acting on impulse or should I say instead of planning to slit their throats, favoritism, and comparisons are a very unhealthy and toxic mode of parenting, especially when here the dad was shaming his child for becoming a boxer. I think both parties were at fault except the sister.

Many daughters in the past and even majority of daughters even today face this discrimination but how many of them have committed such crime. Go deeper in society be it village or small town or big cities how daughters r not considered as heir.

Then why he felt so privileged? Society has given excess of excess freedom to men, excessive privilege filled with pride n when things don't go there way they commit crime. Be it harassing women for rejection or family.

This is not just a simple family fued but deeply ingrained problem

what his parents did was wrong but in such cases kids should just go no contact with family rather than killing them

If dad was the problem why did he kill his mom too? Did he not feel the love of a mother?

At the end of the day, everything everyone lost, the family died, that boy's life is already down the drain. Theres no win win at all. I hope people realise this and start acting smarter rather than taking unwanted decisions in life

The boy clearly had his eyes on money and property…. Otherwise why did he kill his mother and sister too, if he had problems mainly with the father?

RIP kavita and her parents. This is really heartbreaking.

As a 20 y/o, my parents have almost been successfull in jeopardising my life too by forcing a career choice down on me. I'm going to be 3 years behind in whatever i start now.

I still love my parents the most in the world tho. They could insult me and I'd still come back to them.

It was not the case with Arjun he was VERY deeply hurt to take that step. It's unfathomable how much hate you could have for your family to literally m***er them.

*I do not agree with people defending his actions*

Some people really said "you reap what you sow" really mf? He could've packed his bags and left. But he m****ered his family with no impunity effectively ruining his own life too.

I can't help but think how just decades ago, 90% of women and daughters were treated this way in their families. Not given share in property, not even considered worthy to be given much after thought. The dowry was to be handed to husband's family and they considered it theirs.

In my own family, none of my maasi's got to complete their under Grad. Not given share in property. Their brother's got all of it, all the encouragement and help in education.
Yet you don't hear of daughters m****ering their families because of ill treatment.
So not only is this the case of severe mental health issues but ALSO gross entitlement. Now he'll rot behind bars and say bye bye to his boxing career.

Nothing justifies his act.... problem is the way of thinking nowadays in youth... too much ego & zero effort for self development and put blame on parents. Girls' daily face such discrimination.. how many of them killed thier parents?

The boy was stone hearted, instead of taking such a heart wrenching step he could have proved himself to his parents by working harder.

according to the news his father actually encouraged him to do boxing and was the one who recognised his potential. makes it all the more confusing.

the jealousy from the fact that his sister would get her due share... pathetic

Honestly he ruined his own life rather than his family's. I think he just wanted to escape from his environment and instead of choose the better environment decide much worst. These type of cases increasing. I think maybe western's move out at 18 is the best. Sometimes family could be suffocating to. We, Indians lack the blind respect for family our ancestors had yet live as a family. It's time to change. Atleast send the children to hostel.
