Understanding Double Extortion Ransomware

In a ransomware attack called "Double extortion ransomware", an attacker first steals or exfiltrates data from a victim's network and then encrypts it. The attacker then threatens to release the stolen data to the public or other unauthorized parties if the victim does not pay the ransom demanded. This tactic is used to increase the likelihood of payment by creating additional leverage and pressure on the victim to comply with the attacker's demands.
