BC government confirms majority of Lytton destroyed in fire, pledges to rebuild | FULL

The British Columbia government pledged to rebuild the community of Lytton Thursday, as it confirmed the majority of the village had been destroyed by a devastating wildfire.

"I have reports that most homes and structures in the village, as well as the ambulance station and the RCMP detachment, have been lost," Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth said.'

"I also understand that some residents have not been accounted for, and their location is currently being investigated by the RCMP."

At least 1,000 people had been evacuated from Lytton and the surrounding areas, Farnworth said.

B.C. Premier John Horgan said the cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Just like that more homeless people in BC. What is our government doing to provide housing for all the residents of Lytton. Where are they now? Who is providing a bed, a refrigerator, a stove and oven, a bath/shower sink, and grief counselling? What about the jobs these victims may have lost? I pray the government helps honourably.

House insurance rates will go so high that people won't be able to afford it. Same thing happened in Fort Mac, now house insurance is more expensive than the house payments. And the government will do nothing...

The first reports of a fire was from a middle aged lady (not some drunk) returning home after work, who saw a small brush fire near the tracks while the train was rolling through.
Everyone claiming it started near or on a church is just trying to incite hatred, and blame natives for this tragedy because they're angry about the recent church burnings in BC.
