I love his smile bcos I think back to the shocking neglect Kurt suffered as a teen, and the deep hurt & raw pain he endured right to the end of his life bcos of that neglect. To have suffered so much as a child but to still be able to smile as an adult is a wonderful thing, a blessing for those who realise the circumstances of his life. It’s no wonder he used heroin so much. I think most of us would turn to substance use if we’d suffered even half of what he had to endure.
