I wish more people would put the word out there on this terrible shit. Thank the lord I moved thru my dark days and walk in the light now. I had a heroin addiction and then boom, it was like overnight it switched to Fentanyl. And let me tell you…hardest thing I’ve ever went through in my life was getting clean off that garbage. During my addiction to heroin I was an idiot and wobbled back and forth between sobriety and using. I can tell you one thing right now, there will never EVER be another wobble back to use for this lady. What an absolute horrific detox. My lord! Stay away from it! Run as far as you can in the opposite direction! It’s death!

Naloxone or Narcan is temporary. How long it lasts depends on the drug and the amount the person received in their narcotic dose. Make sure you are getting emergency care immediately. When it wears off, you are back to square one again. The ER will be able to give continuous doses of naloxone until it is safe to discontinue it. The person may wake up and seem totally normal…but if their narcotic dose was bigger than that naloxone dose can handle, they will return to their original incapacitated state.

In the uk you can only get fentanyl lollies if you have cancer or another extreme terminal illness or in patches if it’s to be a baseline for pain meds. Luckily over here big pharma doesn’t have the say over the price and therefore insurance companies aren’t involved. I have been patches for about 5yrs now and also have the 1 in 1 solution of oxycodone up to 4 times a day (thought I usually only take it in the evening so I have enough extra meds if I need it.) but all the documentary’s about fentanyl, gabapentin, pregabalin and Oxycodone are really starting to worry me. Doing this video was such a great idea. Good on you stevie.

To put it into perspective I was prescribed Fentanyl after open-heart surgery for the first 3 days ish. It was awful, I actually got in trouble for not using the button enough 😅

I had a total knee replacement and the hospital overdosed me on fentanyl and codeine my kidneys failed and I coded 3 times went into a coma for 2 months then was put on a medically induced coma, when they woke me I couldn't walk or get out of bed for 3 months and then was in a wheelchair for 6 months

I was in the hospital over terrible stomach pain and I was given fentanyl thru an iv!!! The hospital did a ct scan and than told me to rest!!! I was discharged from the hospital..I went home and slept til 11am the next day

As a pharmacy technician, some pharmacy retailers like CVS require their pharmacists to go thru specific trainings when it comes to giving out narcan and birth control without a doctors prescription. I’ve had moms come in asking if the new pharmacist can prescribe her daughter birth control and he always declines bc never did the training for it. Target sells narcan too

US hospitals are facing a fentanyl shortage. Maybe we should contract with the Mexican cartels, as they have a great supply

My fiancé and I both keep some on hand just in case we encounter someone overdosing when we’re out and about. 💗 Also, anyone that has health insurance, your health insurance will cover you getting naloxone from your local pharmacy.
