i will agree with you to a certain extent. i happen to have the "blow up" yfz. certain models of these bikes blow up left and right, due to the way the oil is set up. yamaha has recently came out with a modification for the oil set up that is cheap to fix. this model is the first to come out with the new oil setup from the factory. they are much more reliable in the 09 + models. i have not bought the oil mod for mine yet, but do plan to do so.(just in case youre friends would need this info)

I still love a powerhouse 4-stroke. Yes, the Maint is higher then it used to be, but the trx450r I had was anything but boring. On dirt, it was hard to do a stable wheelie for all the torque it had. Pavement = miles on the back tires at 60-80mph. Dirt, 5th gear power slides and trails. Great fun! Miss it greatly!!!

@lincolnskyler no, u can powershift but its bad for your transmision after a while

@lincolnskyler you can shift without the clutch, but your trans wont last long.Me, i always use de clutch, you should too!

trx450r, dont mind wat the other guy said the honda is the slowest of the 450s but the honda is very reliable and it seems to me you have a honda now.

@keithelder93 gotta stop you there. i gotta 09 yfz450R and when it was stock only thing i hated was engine performance and it needed a free flowing exhaust and intake to to really enjoy what it has to offer. Handling and suspension is best in its class and i love it but i gotta HMF optimizer on mine and throttle isnt crisp as i would want it to be. LTR450 is almost as good as the yfz but i love the ltr THROTTLE THAT SHIT IS UNREAL!! still love my yfz though!
