I'm really sorry for the loss of your Dad. It's nice to see a son searching those saved coins with appreciation. Plus making a video to share with us out here. What a sweet gift your Dad left for you to find and explore. Those amazing finds and rare coins he saved. Love motovates me to search my change. For my family I put all the coins for their birth years away. When they married I added their spouses. Seeing their birth years helps me realize how lucky I am to have them in my life. Times they asked to borrow money and paid it back...I put in their boxes. It's been a blessing seeing the boxes gain weight... LOL TY again for this short.

I've commented this before and I keep standing by it. Statistically, regular (non-error) notes and coins should be worth more with how many errors are out there for USA currency.

What a legacy, and a soft financial cushion.

I work in toll collection and I handle thousands of coins daily. I'm allowed to buy any US minted coin at face value. I carry 40 cents with me each day so I can swap out a pre 1964 quarter, , a Mercury dime, and a Buffalo/Indian head nickel. I'm allowed to keep any foreign coins. I bring home 3 - 6 coins per shift. Putt Putt and car wash tokens as well as religious tokens are frequently recovered too.

My grandfather ran a country general store from the 1940's to 1969. . He had a large leather pouch full of all denominations of silver coins. about 30 to 35 years after he passed away, I sold it for $, 2500. silver had reached a price of $37 an oz. It's now $19 an oz. good timing

I remember Buffalo nickels when I was a kid. They were so cool.

That's what my collection looks like but way more it's a mess . I try but they're hard to keep up with because it takes days into nights.

I guess you could still be dirt poor and leave your children a fortune; all depends on how smart and patient you are

I have my mother and grandma's collection of old coins, stamps and postcards from all over the world. Plus some old western magazines too and I'm 46 years old. I took it to a place to see what it was worth. But the guy there played it off like it wasn't worth much and if I wanted to leave it there he would sell it in his auction. Lol, I said no thanks and left.
