Показать описание
today's railtour is one of special significance as this is the first time in many years that a steam locomotive has been allowed to run at over 75 miles per hour. 4464 bittern has temporary permission to run at 90MPH on certain sections of the East Coast Mainline and this is why i went to see the tour at Arlesey the first 90 max section being hitchin - offord would give the gresley A4 chance to charge the long straights to get up to speed and this video is the result. thanks to the timings of the ordinary passenger service i was able to pass the streak at Holme and see the tour again at peterborough and thanks to the mainline service to edinburgh running late 4464 was given the blessing of the fast line through Peterborough
the 75+ up to 90mph running with 4464 bittern has been blessed thanks to many organisations and is being done to help commemorate the 75th anniversary of fellow class mate no. 4468 Mallard running at 126MPH breaking the world speed record, a record that still stands to this day
