Tsitsipas practically won the match with no backhand, topspin was completely off and slices not really there. This is the positive he can take, the negative is that in this condition he cannot go far in this or any tournament. Hope he gets well soon.

The backhand’s current shape is a shame because he was starting to hit through his backhand, flatten it out, change direction and play down the line at the AO this year. The just developing aggressive backhand is gone because of the shoulder injury and his lost confidence.

The tennis fans that decide to comment on these vids (at least lately) are so... i'm not sure what the word would be. But to be constantly questioning good players' ability right after injuries and having the audacity to say they've lost their confidence... god forbid there is a hiccup in their career! or as if playing in front of stadiums of people and millions of people at home, thousands of dollars on the line etc. wouldn't be incredibly stressful. ya'll are annoying. All these players are good, yes some need to believe in themselves a bit more but to be talking down these players as if you know half of what it takes is embarrassing.

Tsitsipas should focus in my opinion on his backhand when he recovers from his injury. At this stage of his career he should mainly focus on improving that so can he compete for GS. I hope he doesn’t waste any more time on other areas. Of course there are so many things in the background that me and many people are not aware but improving his backhand is a must. Playing like that is just another back in the years version of Tsitsipas which is not always excited to watch for someone who has been watching Tsitsipas playing professional tennis from the beginning. Probably no one else would pull out a win at ATP level without a backhand. But Tsitsipas is so used to it, bh was always his weakness even without injury. It’s actually very impressive, but I hope he gets better and improves on the bh wing. Maybe this injury will force him to really work on his slice, which is terrible. He needs a solid slice and more aggressive topspin if he wants to have a chance to win any slam against the younger generation of players.

A big tsitsipas fan here, still couldn’t believe he won the match, newly no backhand at all, slicing very backhand shot, service isn’t as consistent as usual, clearly Garin was the better player but somehow Tsitsipas won 🤯

Tsitsipas 's injury probably stops him to play 100 %... When I was watching AO I said to my son he would be in finals with Novak...
