HydroCAD Tutorial03: Open Channel Design

Показать описание

Open channel design is another feature of HydroCAD software. An open channel is any conduit that allows the flow of water with a free surface exposed to the atmosphere. HydroCAD allows users to design and analyze the hydraulic performance of open channels, such as culverts, ditches, and channels, using a variety of design methods.

To design an open channel in HydroCAD, users need to define the channel's geometry, including its shape, size, and slope. HydroCAD includes a range of pre-defined shapes, such as circular, rectangular, and trapezoidal, or users can create their own custom shapes. Users can then specify the hydraulic properties of the channel, such as the roughness coefficient, and the flow rate.

Connect the watershed to the open channel 8:38 - 10:57

Hello, thank you for your tutorial! Do you have recommendations for medium watersheds that feed into one channel? I am analyzing a 7 square mile watershed, and am wondering if I should try and model the entire watershed as one into the point of interest, or break the watershed into smaller sections?
