Mashal Ji stole the show today! What an incredible performance! She embodies the role of a bipolar patient. It is so easy to overdo a role like this but she has judged it perfectly. Mashal Ji is a fantastic actor and we are seeing it on screen week after week. This is far away her best role and I hope that other directors will see her potential and cast in more challenging roles. I hope that we get to hear more about her back story soon as I am intrigued to find out more. The Salman/Kiran Ji dynamic is so interesting as well. Salman's narcissism may well be nurture as well as nature. Kiran Ji is also a first-rate narcissist. She doesn't care about people at all not even Salman is an extension of her being so needs to behave, think, live, and act as she does. She is goal-oriented and will do anything to achieve what she wants and use anybody. She values money, power, and success over human emotions. Kiran Ji doesn't love Salman she owns him, like a car or a house. She is just as obsessed with Salman as Noor is, she wants him to herself so will never let him marry a woman he actually loves. They sure picked the right actor to play Kiran Ji that little smile after Salman leaves having told Kiran that he doesn't love Tania even a bit says it all. The Salman/Noor psychosis is much more interesting than the narrative creates. It is the out-of-this-world acting skills of Saba Ji and Sami Ji that bring the turmoil of the two characters alive. Salman both wanting desperately to run about is compelled to stay by his own obsession with himself which is reflected by Noor's naked adoration. Noor is so taken with the desire for the perfect love, to lavish the object of her affection with 100% of herself and everything she feels that she can't see that Salman doesn't love her, he is addicted to her. This is the worst kind of co-dependant relationship that will likely end with one of them dead. The weakest aspect of Pagal Khana is the psychological treatment. The doctors are very poor and clearly making their patients worse. It is not clear what kind of therapy they are practicing, it seems as though Dr Behram is running some kind of experiment on these people which is deeply unethical. The character doesn't seem to care much about what happens to the patients and everything seems like s joke to him. What was the point of lying to Tina about making a drama and then in the middle of a common area with patients and staff confessing that he was just making it all up! This really has to change or the drama will end up creating more prejudice against psychological treatment than already exists
