Priesthood Session of General Conference

My name is Mike and I'm an ExMormon. I told numerous missionaries, security guards and volunteers on Temple Square that I was not a member of the Mormon church and yet I was told that I could attend the Priesthood session that was starting at 6:00 PM. I walked right in, waited an hour and a half, and received a ticket to attend the Priesthood session of General Conference. There were boys as young as 8 years old in attendance.

No faithful Mormon women were allowed to attend even though hundreds of them were just outside, standing in rain and hail, hoping to be allowed to watch what "the brethren" are teaching their sons. They've been told they can watch it on tv.

Many Mormons consider me to be a "son of perdition" and yet *I* can attend this "men and boys age 8 and up" meeting but the MOTHERS of those boys, often single mothers, aren't allowed to attend.

Why on earth would LDS, Inc. not allow a few hundred women to fill some seats in a nearly empty Tabernacle?

Wait, are we aware that the WOMEN of this Church also have their OWN meeting in which men do NOT attend?  It is a week before each conference. So what's the issue? There is a conference just for women, one just for men, and others for families.  Again, what's the issue?  Leave the people alone. They're good people living more strict lives than most of us can say.  We should support those that support our country and values, the people of this Church do.

It truly is sad that the church treats women as inferior or second class to men, even non-church friendly men are treated with more privileges than "faithful" women. If this isn't proof enough that the church is harmful to women, I don't know what is. I hope any still LDS women wake up and reclaim your dignity as an equal human with the same rights to information and access as men. I'm Nate and I'm an ex-mormon also. Life does getter better when you declare your freedom from this authoritarian organization. :)

You neglected to mention that there is a WOMEN's Conference, in which only the women attend. As for Priesthood session (which is intended for men)...once they start letting a few hundred women attend, more will want to go. Eventually, there will not be enough seats for the men who want to go to priesthood session. Then it would be just like any other conference with both men and women filling the seats. The Priesthood session is available for women to watch on tv or online. Men can watch the Women's Conference on tv or online as well. It's fair for everyone.
