Sky News host calls out hypocrisy of Yarra City Council

Sky News host Caleb Bond has called out the hypocrisy of Yarra City Council in urging ratepayers to go vegetarian.

According to The Herald Sun, Yarra City Council has urged ratepayers to go vegetarian to tackle the climate crisis but has been serving meat dishing to executives and councillors before its monthly meetings.

“They noshed down on roast beef and then walked into the chamber to tell residents that they should eating vego to save the planet,” Mr Bond said.

“One rule for me, another for thee.”

Far as I am concerned the authority and responsibility of councils needs to be fully outlined in legislation, they need to be restricted to doing what they are for, not wasting rate payers money on random flavour of the moment causes, if they actually bothered to budget the money they were getting and have a surplus once and awhile rates might even be able to come down for a change.

Our farmers manage our environment very well. Since when have indigenous managed the land. They were hunters and gatherers. I would like to see where the indigenous have so miraculously managed this land. Especially when it comes to farming. What crops have they massed produced to the help feed the country. If Yarra council was so worried about the environment, lobby the government to stop the destruction of our landscape to build wind turbines and building solar farms on farming land. Yarra councillors emit more methane than cows with the amount of crap they talk. Getting rid of Yarra council would definitely save the environment.
