If Spawn is ever to end it should not be an happy ending. Al is a dead and the best thing possible for him would be to be in heaven, but after everything I don think it would be satisfying. In my opinion Spawn's ending should be that Al is allowed to stop simply existing, being freed from his duty and allowed the peace and torment of pure nothingness. It is horrifying, but in the end something he would choose after all this time

Like he has to go through trial and error to redeem himself and free his soul from Malbolgia’s grasp
Maybe like some kind of Dante’s Inferno scenario
