ΦΑΛΙΜΕΝΤO/FALIMENTO

“Falimento” is based on the Greek economic crisis. The director describes in his own unique way the abjection that a massive number of his fellow citizens go through while they are forced to eat by the welfare common meals.
Moreover the camera follows many homeless people in the centre of Athens who sleep anywhere they find. The documentary also includes shoots from everyday city flee markets where people grab any type of food they are able to in either very cheap prices or even for free. We also see hungry people who search fro food in the garbage and we also see how many middle-size businesses have closed and left back thousands of unsold and unrented properties.
Furthermore, there are pictures with shots that buy gold from poor fellow citizens giving back as a reward just a few euros. There are also many night shoots in Piraeus and Athens while moving on we watch how protestors are suppressed by the police in the central square of Syntagma. There is also a seen where a family man of the middle class is trying to commit suicide. The documentary closes with two little children who play in the country side trying to show that there can sill be hope and a better future.
