I haven't seen a yellow meated watermelon for about 40+ years. Always were sweeter than red ones. I'm jealous!

I remember having a yellow watermelon and having to convince my friends that it isn't a pineapple

My grandfather used to grow “yellow meat” watermelon. He had an amazing garden.

They look different, but almost taste the same, I find them a little sweeter

"Grow your own melons" I tried I failed with growing them on my body and garden. I'm literally 0-2 on melon growing.

Never plant watermelons near summer squash. You get no melons and striped squash.

When I was a kid, my sibling and I decided we wanted to grow our own watermelons, so we saved seeds for a few weeks and planted them in the front garden…and it worked! We named our little melon Stan and cared for him and watered him and he was about the size of a football when we showed him to Carl, the boy across the street.
And then…Carl plucked Stan off the vine and dropped him in the middle of the road.
Carl was a jerk.

They’re so much sweeter than the traditional red ones. My uncle used to plant them back in the 90’s. Haven’t seen one since then until today

If you ever want an easy starter plant, cherry tomatoes. I was maybe 11 or 12 when I picked a couple that were growing in a neighbors backyard and my brother and I started playing in the mud with them back at our house. One day we forgot about them, and a year later my grandma called and asked why there were tomatoes growing in the garden.

Mom called it yellow. That was my favorite growing up. Getting yellow watermelons aren’t that easy now a days.

Oooo I haven’t eaten a yellow watermelon in quite a while. I always eat mine with a light sprinkle of salt, it’s so refreshing! Much love from Texas!

I had a yellow watermelon when I was young in Georgia. It was the sweetest melon I had ever had. I'm going to grow those next spring early summer.

Orange/yellow watermelons used to be common in my country Japan when I was a kid, but somehow I don’t see them very often now. It made me feel so nostalgic. Thanks!
