I loved and felt this song when it was just the music and lyrics but seeing this video - cripes - just breaks my heart. Great story telling in both the words and the pictures. I know this place and I know others who have been in this space. So much rumination, confusion, betrayal and yet dignity. You have slayed me once again by reading my inner (not so special) life.

I keep waiting to not love one of your albums. Discovered you with Hard Settle and the Portland Maine single. Then Widow Maker became my favourite album and I couldn't get enough (still can't). Then it was Don't get too grand on repeat. You dropped Both Ways and I was like THERE IS NO WAY it is going to compete. But that one was great too. So when this one came out, I straight up wouldn't listen to it. I was sure you must be tapped out. I know that's stupid because you have been my favourite artist for over 4 years now, but whatever. But this album is incredible. WTF? Don't know how you do it... but keep doing it. p.s. my daughter is almost 5 and she loves you too. Always asking me the name of your songs so she can ask to hear them later.

I love the song. Discovered it via the Logan Mize version, which I much prefer. Would have preferred to see Donovan Woods sing in this video, instead of playing a minor supporting role in his own video. I really like his voice and his songwriting.
