Superman and Batman being best friends is a good example for people to live by. They are so different, as different as night and day, yet they can work together and even be friends.

Superman has been getting a lot of love as of late with Smallville, Superman the Animated Series and of course Superman and Lois. He definitely deserves it. Smallville is definitely an inspirational and influential part of my life and I absolutely adore it. Superman and Lois does a wonderful job of emulating the elements and themes that Smallville brought to the small screen from 2001-2011. I haven't seen Superman the Animated Series yet. I'm going to have to see if I can order a copy from Best Buy so I can finally give it a viewing. Otherwise, thanks as always Heath for another wonderful video. I really appreciate the continued hard work!

The multi-part episode "World's Finest", where Superman meets Batman for the first time, is one of the best storylines of this series!!! I especially loved how they discover each other's secret identities, Batman's discovery of Clark is completely spot-on!!! I wish the live-action movies would have taken note of this series and Batman the Animated series when they made their past films, then they wouldn't have had so many failures. These animated shows are still the VERY BEST adaptations of these characters (and their stories) EVER brought to screen!

Got my set in the mail this week. The series has never looked better, much like Batman TAS and Batman Beyond. I hope Justice League complete set release is next. Yes i know Blurays are out for those but we need a proper complete set with the first series in the widescreen format like they originally intended. I would also love to see all of Zeta Project, Static Shock, Super Friends on BD, Freakazoid, Animaniacs OG, Pinky and the Brain and Tiny Toons, Gobots, Centurions, The Mask TAS, Swat Kats all remastered and released on BD as well.

Finally Superman the animated series is on blu ray
While I liked the ruby spears animated version of Superman (as cheesy as it is) the 1996 series is easily the definitive incarnation of Superman
It’s basically what if we took Superman into a Batman the animated series scenario and it worked
The show was surprisingly able to tell dark stories even for Superman standards (though let’s be honest Superman is no stranger to dark storytelling)
I also like how they understood Superman’s character he’s not just a blue Boy Scout but an actual person beneath the tights (I know he’s technically an alien) this is what I like about the dc animated universe from the 90s they understand who the heroes are and expand them from how fanboys think they act

Also tim daily is basically to Superman as Kevin conroy is to batman perfect casting Clancy brown did a great job as lex Luther they even got the guy who would later play Danny phantom as jimmy olsen

Superman the animated series is just as good as batman the animated series and while it did get cut short during it’s third season it still should be respected for bringing Superman to a new generation at the time

This show takes me back for sure. I was obviously a fan of BTAS. Then to see Supes was going to be given the same treatment in style and animation, I was pumped. I first learned about STAS in Variety magazine. I bought that issue specifically because Superman was on the cover. It was in glorious color. Not many issues of Variety were printed in color. So it was special ya know. Thank you for your passion and this review. I'm definitely going to pick this up.
