It makes my heart hurt when I think of how much more we would have seen from Tommy if he had lived! Damned drugs! He was the biggest talent to ever come from Sioux City, Ia and it breaks my heart again every time I drive past the cemetery where he was buried. 😢

Thanks for sticking this up. Flogged this, after my mother bought it by accident from a record club.

Tommy is one of the greatest rock, blues, and jazz geniuses who ever picked up a guitar and played it. Check his solo albums, "Teaser" and "Private Eyes." And his work on the legendary jazz drummer Billy Cobham's classic album "Spectrum." Tommy was a masterpiece unfolding, cut short to the huge loss of the rest of us, the world. But thankfully, we have his recorded music to keep us company into the future, and that will last as long as we humans do.

Love Gillan but Tommy was kick ass and some.
Purple had in my opinion 4 of the greatest guitarist ever. Ritchie, Tommy, Satriani and Morse. It's a damn shame Tommy had the drug demon. Zephyr, Cobham, James Gang, Moxy, Purple and 2 solo albums before the age of 25. Unreal.
Doesn't hurt that Paice is my favorite drummer to boot.

3:46 - 3:52 --- something Blackmore would never think to do. Bolin was outside the box.

It sounds heavier than many heavy metal bands

Whoa... This shuffle predates the famous "Purdie Shuffle" (Babylon Sisters), as well as Bonham's (Fool In the Rain) and Porcaro's (Rosanna). It's not half-time, but monstrous nonetheless. Shame it didn't make it on the album, since Paice might be getting more of the praise that he most certainly deserves among the drumming community.

How incredibly fortunate for Ian Paice to have kept the beat for the likes of Richie Blackmore and Tommy Bolin, and I'm sure a few others but goddammit!

Tommy Bolin didn't give a shit. That's why he's dead. But he was amazing when he lived. Good for him
