I just read Will's memoir, he mentioned Les Pattison never had formal training and always plays the upstroke on his bass, no downstrokes, you can see it here, interesting

That version of The Cutter… driven to tears…

*What's new in this version* :
- A better source (2nd generation VHS) was used
- Better equipment : A refurbished professional VCR connected to a time-base corrector, a professional capture device, better software (with oodles of filters)
- Much better image - The difference is quite remarkable, both in detail and colour resolution
- Audio/Video Sync : In the previous version the audio is shifted by 480ms
- Freeze frames corrected (This was actually a YouTube problem when encoding large files)

NOTES:
-- The video is deliberately presented with an aspect ratio of 16:9
-- There's a problem with the main camera that seems to be affected by Ian's voice, which leads to horizontal bars. This is particularly noticeable around 44:07 ...

I agree with all saying that Heaven up Here being their favourite album, mine too. Crocodiles was a massively played LP but Heaven was my most prized album by anyone for years and it was out this week 40 years later. (as well as many other weeks). I loved a few things from this era but this band had a real edge.
