Top 10 most iconic family storylines in The history of The Sims

The Sims has been around for over 20 years and in that time there have been 4 generations of the franchise on PC alone, the first game of it’s kind, there was enough going on in the sims to keep people intrigued and wanting more.
From the ability to customize homes, choose careers, procreate and essentially play with an electronic dolls house, there was a lot to be enjoyed. One aspect of the game that was indeering from the beginning and even more so in the second sims game was the storytelling aspect of the re-occuring characters.
So in todays video we are going to be counting down the top 10 most iconic family storylines in the entire sims series.
You can expect to see some regular faces included here: Goth, Broke, Pleasant and plenty more!

I'll be honest. When I play The Sims, I usually don't dig around for Sims lore because I usually play my own families. But now that I'm listening to the stories of these famous sim families, I'm intrigued. Thank you for sharing these stories! ❤️

The Pleasants are kind of in The Sims 1, too. Daniel (as a child) and his parents Jeff and Diane are in the base game's "family bin."

Sad that you didn't mention Johnny Zest as part of Sims 4 Landgraab lore. Just cause Nancy kicked him out and disowned him doesn't mean we should forget him.

I actually agree with most of your picks, but would not have included the Pancakes (there are far more interesting families that imo are more iconic), like the Specter Family (especially Olive and Nervous Subject), the Smiths (especially Pollination Tech 9), the Curious Family and the Beakers.

BTW, Nina and Dina Caliente do make an appearance in TS3 - Barnacle Bay. They’re young adults and from what I understand it’s after the events of Pleasantview(?). TBH, almost every expansion of TS3 is happening at a different time.

I would have included the Smith's from TS2. Pollination Technician #9 is pretty involved in a lot of the story from that game, including the disappearance of Bella Goth. They were also recreated for TS4.

Sad Ophelia and Nervous Subject weren't in this. Especially with the heartbreaking story of Nervous being taken from his mum, adopted to be a test/experiment by his new family and the mystery of his dad possibly being the grim reaper.

These videos of yours detailing the history of the families in the various Sims franchises are quite educational for me. Except for the times the game *makes* me play with an in-game family (Sims 1 tutorial, Busting Out, Sims 2 Castaways, and the like), I've never played them. I would create my own family as soon as possible. So while my sims have interacted with members of these families, I've never gotten into their lore or even seen the interiors of most of their homes. 😄 Thanks a bunch, and keep these short videos going in-between your let's play series.

The Pleasant’s are also in The Sims 1 in the Family Bin. Daniel and his sister Jennifer are children who live with their parents Jeff and Diane.

My friends have always been Pleasant, Goth, Landgrabb, Broke, Van Gould. I liked a lot of families in Sims 3 Supernatural.

Daniel, Mary-Sue, and the Pleasant twins, can be found, as a whole, on the Gallery. Sort of a more classic alternative, to the college-aged twins in The Sims 4.

An idea for a video, since Agnes get mad and attacks sims for getting frisky in public, trap her in public with three couples and have them make out repeatedly to see how long it would take Agnes to get so mad that she dies from a fit!

It'll be very interesting to see how the Pancakes family evolves throughout new sims games (assuming they'll be there) It would be so cool to get to see more of their ancestors, descendants, and even just them at different time periods like we have with other classic sims fams

My favorites are the Goths, the Landgraabs and especially the Romeo and Juliet families ❤️ I had to read the play for my english class and TS2 helped me a lot understanding the plot. English is not my first language and I was 10 I think and that's not an easy read for a non-native english child speaker, so the game really was a big help! Thank you, Veronaville ❤️ Wish those families came back to TS4, really miss their drama that thankfully didn't end up in Shakespearean tradegy
