This is one of the best Baroque performance I've heard. Ad libbing and improvisation was expected from a player. You weren't worth your salt if you couldn't improvise. Bach was a wonderful improvisor. As was Mozart. I correct myself from my last post. Transverse flutes can be nearly a whole step up from modern flutes. I'm doing the dolce in church in a couple of weeks and this has inspired me.

Transverse flutes are about a 1/4 to 1/2 step away from modern flutes.So this musician is playing it in D minor his flute is in c minor. It's an amazing performance. Their tone is wonderful. And the articulation is impeccable.
