One of the main problems with plea bargains is exactly what she said, some of the more serious charges are dropped to entice the perp to plead guilty to lesser charges. So instead of the perp being locked away from the public for 20+ years, he/she will be out in maybe 8 to 10 to prey on the public again... BS...and throwing out the Federal charge of a felon in illegal possession of a firearm is the worst, but common...

If police in the prosecutors would only charge with what they're supposed to not overcharge people we wouldn't have this problem either.

Or double charge shall I say..
