No phones in class wasn't a policy before? And now you can still have/but not use them at school, but just not when you are in the bathroom? How about confiscating them before the phones get through the door?? If the kids need a ride a teacher or administrator can call thier parent or whoever to get them one.

How stupid they push a no-phones policy as school SAFETY when it should have already BEEN a policy in place for conduct reasons, but God forbid something bad did happen, no student in a bathroom can phone for help? 🙄

Single points of entry, yeah, a person with a hidden weapon can still enter and register. Panic buttons, yeah, and the kid/teacher being assaulted will still have to wait for law enforcement to arrive, and they could still, be dead or seriously injured in the mean time. And the cameras will just be there to record all of it. These are not safety measures, they are liability reduction strategies.
