The Twili tribe are a pivotal story element in Twilight Princess, their origins, society and realm are blanketed in mystery but have been important enough to start the shadow invasion of Hyrule. Lets take a look at this tribe in Zelda 101!

Midna is probably my favorite character in the entire series, next to toon link.

One theory I like, is that the Twili are a mixture of different tribes. The Twili look relatively different from each other (different hair colours), there's some Sheikah relations with a symbol appearing on the throne. Zant has a Gerudo symbol on his ... bib ... thing. It could have just been a group of defectors in general united together in order to take over. Of course, this is all speculation since we know very little about them.

Calling it now. Zelda Wii U will be a sequel to Skyward Sword, and have a heavy emphasis on the Sheikah Race. It will explain everything about how the insurrection sheikah group broke off from the loyal sheikh group, and became the Twili. Two key factors are making me think this. 1) Link looks like a sheikah in the upcoming game. 2) The wolf link amiibo being compatible with Zelda Wii U suggests a story connection between the two.

what if after twilight princess, link set out to find the triforce so he could wish for midna to return? No proof bur i think it's an interesting idea.

The mirror maybe destroyed but that doesn't mean it can fix through some kind of magic like the Triforce. We know the Triforce can restore objects like in the end of Link between world's when they restored Lorules Triforce with Hyrules Triforce at the end of the game.

While I think that the Twili are related more to the Sheikah then the Gerudo's, one thing stands out between the Gerudo's and the Twili which is their hair color. What I never thought about until now, is the helmet of Zant. The weird tongue of his helmet has a striking resemblance to the tear of the Sheikah symbol as it has this bulky round shape as the tear has, and maybe it's not a tear but actually a tongue. We see an eye so we allways figured it to be a tear, but what it's not?.

The Twili are a banished people so for them to be the Interlopers makes more sense to me then Gerudo's. The Interlopers have corrupted themselves and turned dark, they possesed a lot of magic and are evil. Zant was evil as well as he was easily corrupted by the power of Ganondorf and guess what?. This trait is very similar to the Interlopers which tried to grab the power of the Triforce for their own.

So I just don't know who they could be, but Nitendo will probably pick one group of people then rather combine them all.

you should do an episode about the Shika. they are shrouded in mystery and I think it would be a good topic for Zelda fans new and old alike! though only if you want to, I don't mean to be pushy.

Hey HMK I dunno if you or anyone else has done a theory on this or talked about this but has anyone thought that Skyward Sword should have created another split timeline? Think about it, OoT split into 3 and 2 of them made sense (the child and adult timeline) the failure timeline I think is stupid but anyway, in SS Link travels back in time to kill demise after he was defeated by the Triforce wish in the present and then uses the gate again to go back but considering that was in the ancient past skyloft had only just been sent skywards therefore another timeline should have been created seeing as the events of SS wouldn't have happened in that time anymore because there was no Demise on the Surface to get rid off. Maybe the new Zelda game will be on that timeline considering they want to make a fresh start with this game and get back to the basics. Plus it would be a good way to scrap the timeline and not be confined by it.
