I only just learned of his passing today. What a great loss to his family and friends, disciples and the whole Wing Chun community. I have been watching and listening to his lectures from the very beginning, and although I have never met him in person, his dedication to the art has always been admirable and he has a fantastic insight into the system. I can only wish that his legacy lives on.

I trained with him on many occasions although am his brother Ip Chun disciple. He was quite strict as I recall but we got on quite well. This was 90s from that time on I’d always visit his class when in HK. It’s a great loss to all his family and close friends not to mention the tens of thousands Wing Chun followers. As stated on this video after retiring he dedicated himself to teaching Wing Chun, we who where fortunate to have gained a little experience should practice keep it alive. These great masters give us so much we can’t take everything on board, but if we can take some of that teaching where it makes a difference I’m sure all our late masters will look down smiling. RIP until we meet again.

I met Master Ip Ching, in 1992, on his first visit to London UK, he was introduced to me by my master Ip Chun, then later i became the 1st westerner to train with him, in great G, Grandmaster Ip Man's house, where he continued to live, after his father's passing, we became great friends over 3 decades, he was always praising my wing chun skills, and was a constant mentor to me, i will miss him very much, God bless you Master, and may you enjoy your continuation, whatever you choose next!?
