Global efforts to control and eliminate malaria have shown some good progress in the last decade. Investment in malaria control -- including mosquito nets, anti-malarial drugs, education about the disease and training of health workers -- across the world's most endemic regions has led to a steady and significant decrease in the number of deaths from the disease each year.

Established in 2003, Malaria Consortium is one of the world's leading non-profit organisations specialising in the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases -- particularly those affecting children such as pneumonia and diarrhoea.

Malaria Consortium works in Africa and Southeast Asia with communities, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions, and local and international organisations, to ensure that good evidence supports the delivery of effective services for disease control. We have built a strong reputation in our areas of expertise, which include disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, disease control and elimination; health systems strengthening, research, monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, behaviour change communication, and national and international advocacy.
