The Challenges Ahead for China's Xi

Angela Mancini, partner and head of Asia Pacific markets at Control Risks, talks about the outlook for the Chinese economy, the government's policies, and the bilateral relations with the U.S.. President Xi Jinping said in a virtual speech delivered to the World Economic Forum that China's economy has maintained a positive trend, with dual targets of relatively high growth and low inflation achieved in 2021, according to state broadcaster CCTV. China GDP has increased by 8 .1 % in RMB, by 20% in USD, from 14.7 Trillion USD in 2020 to 17.7 Trillion USD in 2021, a net increase by 3 trillion USD which is equal to the total GDP of India in 2021. China GDP in 2021 is 77% of that USA from 70% in 2020.
