Fleischmann 1320 BR 80 1952 : BIRTH of HO scale DC 12 V

Показать описание
The first steam tank loco ready to run with DC in HO scale track with 12 V motor.
All started 65 years ago....
At the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 1952, Fleischmann first began presenting its very own lineup of H0 scale models. Building off their prior preference to use 2 rail DC, the technology was implemented into the H0 scale, making Fleischmann the first company to offer such a product line.
Since its early introduction, it was the company's intention to completely exploit this technology, and give its fans the opportunity to determine the direction of the trains in advance. The tough metal tracks with discreet cardboard sleepers was indication of Fleischmann's objective, and was the base for the perfected track line used in layouts today. In conjunction with the track, and a full assortment of accessories for the model railroad layout, H0 tycoons were presented with a class 01 tender loco, a class 80 tank loco, and a class E44 electric loco since the very origin of the product line.
Notes: 1) Meccano introduced its OO scale trains in 1938 under the name 'Hornby Dublo'. The locomotives were diecast metal, and the carriages and wagons were generally made of tinplate. This was a very well planned range of electric and clockwork models, successfully consolidating 12 V DC as the standard for OO scale. This led to the adoption of OO as a broadly accepted modelling standard in the UK, whereas much of the rest of the world adopted HO scale. 2) Varney Scale Models (USA) was founded in 1936 by Gordon Varney, an early pioneer - the so called 'Dean of HO scale' - in manufacturing HO scale model trains. They developed a reliable 6-volt motor. Their locos were kits for assembly and not ready to run (RTR) models.
