Clueless Southgate is THE LUCKIEST ENGLAND MANAGER EVER FFS!!!. No tactical IQ, just pure luck and relying on players' brilliance. Absolute mental!! 🤣🤣🤣🤬🤬🤬

People said our '98 squad had great players, and there were some youngsters from the so-called 'Golden Generation' in that squad too, but to a man, they all agreed that Hoddle, at 40 was by far the best player in training. That should tell us soooo much about how we started to hype players from the PL era onwards.

He's been lucky with the top sides he has had to play. Bang average manager. Has he have been on the other side of the draws he would have left years ago. If and it's a big if England win against Spain it will be inspite of Southgate rather than because of him.

The golden generation had to go against R9, Zidane, CR7 at his peak, Messi at his peak, Raul, Rivaldo etc.

This generation flops everytime they come against someone decent.

Catterall doesn't understand football. Go back 20 years ago and look at the Brazilian team then compared to now. The French, Dutch, Italians and Germans were all much more impressive then now. This is an incredible opportunity for us when we are in an up cycle and our main rivals are in down Unfortunately we have a clueless PE Teacher in charge!

It appears that it is Gareth fault France didnt win their group and Belgium didnt win their group. Thats the reason why they didnt end up on England's side of the draw

Catteral - ‘come on man we’re playing against good teams’……ehh good teams in the knock out stages like Slovakia, Switzerland, Denmark, Ukraine, Sweden??? Southgate has got mega lucky with the teams in the knock outs

Only chance we'll win is not by technical ability and having a better game, it's the resilience of the ref. Kane milked the non penalty, recognised the ref can be "gotten at " and started to dive about around the Dutch box. Dark Forces seem to be aiding England in the same way they did for Argentina in Qatar.

Hoping for a good game of football so nothing gets tainted and the final is remembered for honesty & integrity...

The difference with 2004 and 2006 teams was that England played the wrong formation. If we would have had Carrick sitting, with Scholes and Gerrard or Scholes and Lampard infront, we would have controlled midfields much better. Unfortunately Owen would have to have held the bench. Also, the standard of the top teams was higher than it is now.

Absolute non stop drivel from Catteral. He says Southgate has had to live with the shame of missing a pen in 1996. Soon after that he was making money out of it with a pizza advert. Wasn't too devastated after all.

The complete myth that we were "the better team" against France when we got knocked out is something I always find funny when I hear clueless people peddling it. Only people with zero ball knowledge think we were the "better team". Just because you have more possession and you have more chances, it doesn't necessarily mean you were the better team. France willingly let us have possession that game because they knew we weren't going to do anything to it, especially when they sat back deep in the second half. It's called "a game plan", and France tactically fulfilled theirs perfectly when they knocked us out. They were by far the best team in that tournament and we weren't the only team they played like that against. They did the exact same thing against Morocco the following game against Morocco in the second half and pulled it off perfectly.

The definition of zero ball knowledge is thinking you were the better team just because you had more possession and shots on paper.

It's stupid to make out like no other manager could do as well. Obviously a lot depends on if he can win tomorrow but if he doesn't then there's nothing to say another manager couldn't win something with 4 goes at it with a current crop of excellent talent. Look at Spain, they had a managerial change after winning a Euros in 2008 for the first time since the 60's, then go on to win the next 2 tournaments.

He certainly didnt get there by his tactical management skills

People are high on euphoria that they have a short term memory where Southgate is concerned, you co7ld count on 2 fingers the amount of times his in game management has affected an important game

Lucky draws, availability of England's record goalscorer and many other world class players, Bellingham last minute winner...

I feel like a west ham fan moaning about the playstyle. The difference is that england has the players to play the most exciting attack style of football. West ham dont.
