LYRICS

I tried to fight the feeling
The feeling took me down
I struggle and I lost the day
You knocked me out

Now everything's got meaning
And meanings bring me down
I'm watching as the screening
Of my life pans out

Every day I fight these feelings
For your sake I will hide the real thing
You can run all your life
For mine I will chase...

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
But you have to follow nature's law

I'll live with never knowing
If knowing's gonna change
I'll stop the feeling growing
I will stay away

Like a broken record
Stuck before a song
A million beginnings
None of them the one

Every day I fight these feelings
For your sake I will hide the real thing
You can run all your life
For mine I will chase...

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
But you have to follow nature's law

I wrote her letters and tried to send them
In a bottle I placed my hope
And it's the last will of good intentions
Seek your will, you'll give it to me

Don't make me wait
You build me up, now take me down
But I will stand my ground
And I'm inspired when I'm found

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
If you let them show you'll keep them
I know you're hurt but soon you'll rise again
Again, again, again, again, again, again, again

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
I have to follow nature's law

ABOUT EMBRACE

Formed in the early ‘90s, Embrace solidified their current line-up in 1996, consisting of brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, bassist Steve Firth, keyboardist Mickey Dale, and drummer Mike Heaton.

Their breakthrough came in 1997 with the indie anthem 'All You Good Good People', followed by top 10 hits 'Come Back To What You Know' and 'My Weakness Is None Of Your Business'. Debut album 'The Good Will Out’, released in June 1998 soared to number one and went on to sell over 500,000 copies in the UK alone, marking it out as one of the fastest-selling debuts by a British artist. Subsequent albums, 'Drawn from Memory' (2000) and 'If You've Never Been' (2001) both entered the top 10 before the band left their original label Hut Recordings.

After a three-year hiatus, Embrace signed with Independiente Records. 2004’s 'Out of Nothing’ album propelled the band back to the top of the charts, thanks in part to Coldplay's Chris Martin, who wrote the hit single ‘Gravity' for the album. The album went on to sell over 600,000 copies in the UK (2xPlatinum) and the band has now scored eight consecutive top 10 album in their career to date.

A friend of mine died in 2006, aged 15. Embrace dedicated the song to him on their UK tour. And here i am 15 years later - I come every year.

What a beautiful song. It always never ceases to amaze me, that whatever the British do, they do it well and make it seem so effortless too.

Used to listen to this as a small kid. My dad told me that when I used to cry, he used to put this song on and I'd suddenly be at rest. I'm 18 now and have always been listening to this masterpiece
