Sgc to me is the most consistent grading standards. Unless your pre grading your cards with jewelers lupe and or 30xs to 60xs magnification plus a bright l.e.d. lights to verify then I'm certain SGC is getting it right.

really like how a lot of these youtubers which have not been properly trained or professionally trained to grade cards complain about how properly trained or professionally trained graders did not give them a higher score grade or think they got shafted on their grade. um i also think i remember seeing a video where SGC uses a machine named VSC that catches imperfections in cards the naked eye cant see even with a magnifying glass . really sad when people go so far out if they dont think they got a good enough grade they crack it back open and send it to another or several other companies to try and get a better grade . at the prices grading costs are at now you will have more money in grading fees then what the card is worth on the lower valued cards. makes no sense to me as an investor . maybe im missing something lol . i doubt it though lol.

I've had nothing but good experiences with SGC. Always fair. Just my experience.

The Herbert blue die cut has a pretty noticeable surface dimple if you look closely. That’s why it got a 9, not because of centering I believe. I don’t know about the Justin Jefferson 5, but it’s possible it got a 5 for surface issues which are the hardest to find without very bright light, also possible print lines with those disco parallels. SGC is harder on centering than PSA as well.

In my opinion, SGC is one of my favourite grading companies, not only do the cases look really good, but their prices are amazing at $9 per card. You can’t beat that, I hope they keep it like that, (keep in mind. This is just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions)

These grading company's are getting to do whatever they want, with no explanation as to why... Why couldn't these company's just include a sheet with just like one sentence explanations as to how they arrived to a specific grade? That really would be SO difficult to do?

Sometimes grading companies are not always perfect but SGC is usually right on target. Get you a magnifying glass that has a light (it's a lifesaver when sending cards in) and you will surely see how tough it can be to get a 10. The shiny cards can have many issues with them at times

I don’t know what are you complaining about those are pretty good grades. You can’t get 10 on all cards sent in. SGC is my favorite company to grade with

SGC actually grades pretty tough, but I sent a 6 card submission and they all were 9 and above and 3 10’s. You gotta examine the cards really well if you’re sending to them cause they are very consistent when it comes the grades.

Dude expecting a 10 on every card is not realistic! I just think you need to do a better job screening your cards! SGC is possibly the most accurate grader imo. Get a microfiber cloth and a magnifying light of some sort for looking at surface. So many of those select and prizm cards have surface issues and print lines all over the back. Your reasoning in why you got those grades makes no sense. People submit thousands of cards at a time your 40 card order is a blip on the radar. Just admit you didnt do a great job at screening your cards. Its ok it happens. Btw how do u not see that dimple in the Herbert?

Grading has screwed up the whole hobby. Collect what looks good to you and just be happy with it. My father owned a Card shop for 20 years. He hated grading. He purchased cards that looked good to his eyes. Now its a 10 or bust. Top load the card and collect it. Be happy with what you have. I agree the grading companies do POP control and are inconsistent and that's across the board.

You realize they use 10x magnification with a computer to judge surface right? There is a video where sgc takes you through their whole grading process I suggest you watch it. If you treat your cards like you treat your slabs I bet all those corner dings are your fault and also getting some horrible surface scuffs. Those slabs scuff easily and you're just dragging them across each other and slamming them around

I don’t know much about football but from looking at that Justin Jefferson and Justin Herbert select comparison, the Herbert has a dimple on the right side of the card. It’s slightly diagonal from non throwing hand below the left elbow. That would definitely make it 9.

SGC is very harsh on centering where PSA will give 10’s to off centered cards and 10’s to cards with 50/50 front but 70/30 backs (which is crazy to me!) SGC doesn’t centering has to be perfect or very very close a 55/45 can probably still get a 10 but both the Bane and Ball select were clearly off center on the front since I can’t see the back I cannot comment on it but I would guess the back is the same or worse. If I can see it from a 2 second reveal on this video the graders definitely can. Never send a card to them that isn’t centered and the best part of SGC compared to PSA they actually have videos out there where they tell you how they grade cards and what you need to check before you submit to them.

At the 10:57 mark, the camera catches a very noticeable surface issue. Looks like a major scratch not even a dimple. That’s why you got a 5. In my experience with PSA/SGC, a 9 is subjective. If you get a 5, the submitter missed a surface issue…

Crack and resub a couple of the ones you disagree with the most to a different company, I'd love to see if the grades change. I keep video and pics of everything I send in.

Sorry to comment again but dude that’s alittle suspect how so many of your cards have the same corner damage in the same corner. When you sleeve them are you trimming the penny sleeves corners? I would definitely photograph everything before submission just to know for sure.

What are you using to look at your cards?? Are you looking with just your raw eye or are you using a magnified glass and light?? I thought I was doing a good job too until I got my light.

Did I see a vertical line just below jeffersons knee? Or is that on the case? Also a print line going through the yellow shoe?
