This song is called “As The Crow Flies” from Alluvial - The Deep Longing for Annihilation.

I completely re-tracked the guitars for this song using the Mesa Boogie Triple Crown 100 Head and an Ibanez Ibanez FRIX7FEAH.

The wet effects on the Clean section and the Reverb on the Lead Guitar section were provided by the Seymour Duncan Vice Grip Compressor and the new Silverlake Reverb.

For Bass Guitar I used a Squier Jazz 5 and the trial version of the new Neural DSP Darkglass B7K Plugin.

All instruments strung with Ernie Ball Cobalt and Paradigm strings.

I re-programmed a good portion of the drums using Toontrack Superior 2.0.

Additional synth sounds used in the intro of the video were done with Logic Alchemy.

When I first started was pentatonic and it didn't really make sense to me...Then Malmsteen and all the shredders came along in the 80's and that was more "linear" in the approach that I could understand....Then along comes Wes Hauch and blows everything out of the water....It sounds so abstract but so beautiful....It's a whole 'nother level of

There’s more riffs in this song than most bands come up with in their whole careers.

This is probably the best solo I have heard in modern-era metal...

Wes has the best picking technique period. No wasted energy, no unnecessary movements. I aspire to achieve this level of technique every day, I've been re-learning guitar with proper technique (especially my picking chops) applied as much as possible and the changes after 15+ years of playing have been all positive. Have this dude to thank for the motivation to put a mountain on that plateau.

One of the sickest metal tones I’ve ever heard. I can’t even get my JP2C to sound quite this good.

That solo has got to be one of my absolute favorites all time and I genuinely mean it. The album version sounds really great as does this.

The world needs more Wes Haunchs to assult our ears with these heavy riffs. Phrasing on the solo is ridiculous
