When it comes to transferring, Excelsior gives you the best transfer flexibility. They still allow up to 113 credits to transfer in. Thomas Edison also allows for a great amount of credits to be transferred in.

My brother recently started attended UMPI & has completed 33 credits so far in 2 weeks

Excelsior University takes 113 credits. That’s the most I ever seen. Most other colleges accept 90 credits.

From the three examples you gave, SNHU's traditional online programs are the only one that requires the "one-year" 30-credit residency. Excelsior allows students to transfer in up to 113 credits. The remaining 7 credits can be completed in one 8-week term. TESU allows you to transfer in your entire degree requirements (no more than 90 from a CC; no limit for 4-year schools) except for two courses. There is a TESU 16-credit residency, however you can waive this for a fee. If you maximize your transfer credits you can complete this in a 12-week term.

For SNHU, you can still try to transfer the credits to their CBE programs CfA (you must enroll through a community-based partner see Rivet School, PeletonU, GraduLet or AdvanceEDU for examples). I agree though, apply to all the schools and see how you can fast-track the process. I recommend that you check out C-BEN to learn more about competency-based education in the US. There are so many programs around the country beyond UMPI and WGU. Colorado State Global, WGU, UMass Global and SNHU often partner with community-based orgs to provide more. There are also smaller offerings throughout the country. Thanks for the video.

I think people are afraid they won't finish in time. WGU recently took the generous transfer credits off of their website where they previously openly displayed them. They still take them, but you need to dig to find them. I have transfer credits from an associate degree so hope they don't change their policy.

Hello Ryan. I have followed you for some time. I am American and Canadian, but i have been attending Universities in Italy, UK, Canada, & USA. I am wondering what the ECTS process and UK transfer process is like. I have an undergraduate in Public Administration, but i wonder if it will be recognized by the US System? I have a 90+ credits in Canada and about 70 from the USA. But sadly the USA transfer is not treated so well, unless i have a completed degree program.

If I transfer credits from a school I'm attending to a different school I'll still be able to go back to that school and graduate down the road?
I'm in a financial aid pickle and have to transfer but down the road I'd like to finish my degree from "school A" and have all of those credits in place to graduate.

Hi, I have 86 general education credits from Howard University from 1986. Is a time limit on how old they are for to be accepted? And is there a minimum grade to be accepted? Thank you 😊
