This Loop-the-Loop is in Vanilla Minecraft
Показать описание
I made a working loop-the-loop in vanilla Minecraft!
This cursed minecart rail contains a fully-functional loop-the-loop, and this was made in 100% vanilla Minecraft using only commands - that's right, NO MODS! I used a data pack for convenience but this entire loop-the-loop can be made using just command blocks.
Inspired, of course, by @mysticat's excellent videos like "This Circle is in Vanilla Minecraft" and "This Sphere is in Vanilla Minecraft".
How does it work?
The rail is generated by spawning Armor Stands with a rail block for a head. The Armor Stand can then be posed such that the rail is rotated in the desired orientation.
To make the minecart follow the track, a special "rail controller" Armor Stand is spawned in the centre of the loop, which detects nearby minecarts and moves them around the track using teleport commands. When the cart reaches the end of the loop, another command adds some motion to the cart to get it moving again.
The only problem is that minecarts don't like flipping all the way over - once the angle exceeds 180 degrees, they flip back around. Thankfully this is not *too* noticeable so I left it as-is.
