I grew up on Cannibal Corpse and I'm glad they still deliver the goods constantly. Really enjoyed this new track. George is such a beast, the man slays ever single time.

I'm surprised that Nik seemed surprised when there was a guitar solo in a death metal song.

Cannibal Corpse is your go-to for a 35-45 minute album of nasty riffs and old school Death Metal. You know what you're getting everytime, but you love it anyways.

Also Chaos Horrific if I'm not mistaken is gonna be in Drop G# on a six string. Have fun with that :)

"I like the more melodic stuff"
This is why melodeath exists. Orbit Culture, Wolfheart, Insomnium, Melechesh, Disarmonia Mundi... There's a ton of awesome ones

It's amazing that George has been doing this for over 30 years and still sounds brutal!. Chris Barnes will always be a reminder to look after your vocal chords. And before you say "but George joined Cannibal Corpse in 95'" he was in a band called Monstrosity from 1990 - 96.

For a death metal band, Cannibal Corpse always have lots of great hooks

My death metal go-to is Dying Fetus. Technicality, heaviness, but they also bring the groove. It's beyond me how John Gallagher can sing/grunt while playing such complex and intricate riffs and licks. It's a shame that their name has likely hindered wider recognition

Every time I hear Cannibal Corpse and Corpsegrinder, I _ALWAYS_ think of Dethklok.
Brandon Small and Tommy Blacha likely took inspiration from the band. I’m sure they were influential

If you want some good old death metal, I recommend the following albums:
Death - Human (early tech death)
Obituary - Cause Of Death (oldschool)
Carcass - Heartwork (early melodeath)
Nocturnus - The Key (early tech death)
At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul (OG melodeath)
Deicide - Deicide (oldschool)
Gorguts - Obscura (insane dissonant album)
Morbid Angel - Altars Of Madness (oldschool)
Possessed - Seven Churches (first death metal album, released in 1985)
Suffocation- Effigy Of The Forgotten (first slam metal riff, released 1991)

Bolt Thrower, Death, and Immolation got me into death metal. 80s death metal was actually quite melodic and groovy.

Cattle Decapitation is a death grind group and one of my favorites. They have some disturbing stuff too

If you want groove and hooks, straight-up death metal is one of the BEST spots to look! I'd definitely encourage you to check out some more. Bolt Thrower and Obituary are two big ones that combine brutality with hooks and groove. A lot of the Stockholm stuff (Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Carnage, etc) also has massive hooks and is almost a precursor to the later Gothenburg melodeath stuff. Autopsy is great for huge grooves. I think you'll find a ton of stuff you'll like when you start digging!

This is going to be the new meta of reactions, i.e. doing faces to the blurred video.

Imagine how much fun that day's filming must have been.

Nik's reaction is exactly how I felt with the video. Especially the ending. For those wondering...a face gets removed.

I've always had a soft spot for Corpsegrinder era CC. Love his sound as a vocalist and I really like the groovy direction their songs have taken in general.

Morbid Angel Where the Slime Live is bad ass. Anything off an Immolation album is gonna be top notch stuff. Especially their newer stuff as the production quality matches the prowess.

My favorite death metal band is Bloodbath. They have some awesome tracks, especially from their first album Ressurection Through Carnage, their second album Nightmares Made Flesh, and most recent album Survival of the Sickest.

Rutan with Barrett is the guitar combo CC needed to keep moving forward. The riffs on this new stuff are just so fucking groovy and tasty

When you‘re talking Death Metal, you can’t miss Morbid Angel, Deicide and Obituary. Those were the American OGs and a perfect addition listening to Cannibal Corpse!
