Thousands of people in Taiwan have been trying to name the first giant panda ever born on the island. The female cub was delivered at Taipei Zoo on July 6 following artificial insemination sessions after her parents Yuan Yuan and Tuan Tuan failed to conceive naturally.

Video footage showed the 63-day-old baby waving her arms and legs while lying on a special crib made of bamboo leaves. Report by Jeremy Barnes.
