Is Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand worth visiting? Located near Railay Beach, Ao Nang is known as the best place to stay in Krabi because of its easy access to some of Thailand's most beautiful islands and beaches, including Phi Phi Islands, Maya Bay, Hong Island, Bambo and Poda Island. We spent a week exploring to find out if Ao Nang truly is the best area to stay, ranking it based on location (access to must-do activities), cost (of living) and social scene. Thailand is very seasonal, if you went to the Krabi area now in June for example the hotel prices are cheaper, even booking just one day in advance! So many amazing islands to visit and stay, which you definitely should do. Oh by the way decent Gyms in Cambodia can be around $1 a day

Went to Ao Nang in 2017, then again during Covid in 2022 (Which was the best time), Feb 2024 and December 2024 and going back in December 2025.

Ao Nang was great 10 years ago, but for me it has got far too busy, but if that is what you like then great, but if not try islands like Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai which are only a 30 minute speedboat ride from Krabi.
