I just bought a Cricut Maker a few weeks ago and I love it!! The best advice that I could give a newbie is to learn the Design Space lingo first, such as "group", "attach", "weld", "slice", and "flatten". Also, watch tons of Youtube tutorials. By the way, I love your channel and I'm glad that you are using the vinyl lettering :).

I made 6 of these. I used scrap book paper to make mine. I used a paper plate to measure the circle because the Dixie paper plates perfectly fits the inside of the charger.

I use crumpled paper towel to do the galvanized look. It has a more random look.

You can pick up the little plastic containers in the paint area and if you have extra paint from your projects you can just put the extra paint in one of them. I put my mixed color paints in them. And they are little enough you can just put a brush in and paint.
