Dion - I love this video series. I have two points I'm hoping you will clarify for me. (1) I thought a ship only overlaps an obstacle if its final position is resting on top of it (from "overlap" entry in the Rules Reference). If the template passes through it, then it still suffers the consequences of moving through it. (2) Can you clarify the statement that a ship touching, but not overlapping, an obatacle is not at range 0? The RR entry for "range" seems to contradict this. It says, "Range 0 does not appear on the range ruler, but is used to describe the distance for objects that are physically touching." There is a sub-bullet that says, "An object is at range 0 of an obstacle or device if it is physically on top of it." But this point seems to clarify a special case of the first quoted point, not exclude other permutations of range 0.

Anyway, I'm confused. Please help me figure this out! Thanks.

Good, but I think you should have mentioned a couple of the basic traps, such as being caught out and affected by the same asteroid two turns in a row, depending on where you land, and, you can't normally barrel roll or boost onto and asteroid as that would fail the action. Perhaps revisit this when the new obstacles come out.

Please make video for newbies about upgrade cards effects like Composure, Stealth Device (when you exaclty turn down charge token?), when veteran turret gunner works, how different types of bombs, rockets and torpedos works, basic cloaking mechanics in nutshell and how exactly every damage deck cards works.

I am looking for an answer about target locks and obstacles. Does this enable a player to fire at and destroy the obstacles or does it just represent a fail to target an enemy ship?

Thx. for this. So if you get coordinated and do a boost action over/on an obstacle you take its effect? Can you do a scum falcon + escape craft and how it interacts with Qi’ra and the ‘spend’ of shields. It will be much clearer to see instead of all (for me at least inconclusive) RAI vs RAW debates that boggles my mind. Thx.

Why was it a lot of people were saying that you do lose your perform action step if you ailerons through a rock in 2nd ed? I believe you but want to be able to justify my answer!

Also, I hear about people using coordinate to barrel-roll off of a rock. Is this something you can always do, or only if you're hanging off the rock in such a way that no part of the template would overlap it?

I didn’t think it was possible to barrel roll onto or through an obstacle. Isn’t it just a failed action (if it can’t be legally placed anywhere)?

You missed dropping a debris cloud on a ship and when those trigger, also showing a ship on an asteroid getting a coordinated action. New players & some seasoned players often believe you cannot perform an action whilst on an obstacle. Otherwise great!
